For an off the beaten path, handicapped accessible attraction, travel to historic Silverton, Oregon to view the century-old stained glass windows of Trinity Lutheran Church.
From June through September, the church located at 500 N. Second St., conducts their "Sunshine Through The Decades" tours on a drop-in basis on Sundays from noon to 2 p.m. Tours for individuals or groups are also available any day of the week year-round by prior appointment.
The 18 windows of colored and stained glass and hand-painted glass cameos are a depiction of the Lord's Prayer and were commissioned in 1910 from a prominent stained glass company in Germany. This factory was subsequently destroyed in World War II, so the windows are now irreplacable. The church is currently engaged in a restoration project to preserve this artistic treasure.
